Summer Programs

ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law welcomes applications for its summer internship program.

We invite and actively encourage law school undergraduates from Turkey and law students from around the globe to submit their applications to be considered for a full-time summer internship with us each year. Our summer program aims to provide participants with a practical insight into the legal profession and hands-on experience with life as a qualified lawyer.

Qualification requirements

To succeed, candidates need to demonstrate solid academic ability, an excellent command of written English, fluent spoken English and a deep commitment to hard work. We normally expect candidates to be on course to attain a high degree from a leading law school. We typically require a TOEFL score of 105 or higher. In addition to academic and linguistic ability, we value extra-curricular achievement.

Vacation schemes

Every summer, we run four one-month vacation schemes. The schemes start off on the first Monday of June and close at the end of September. Summer interns typically undertake research tasks, basic drafting tasks, due diligence research and deal work. All summer interns are assigned to a mentor to ensure integration and feedback.

Who can apply

Our summer program is open to second and penultimate-year undergraduate law students or first and second-year law students from J.D. programs.

When to apply

We receive a very high number of applications for our summer program each year. Applications should be submitted early, ideally before April. Successful candidates will be invited to interview.
